When Tin Shed was first recommended, I was instantly won over by the menu alone. Who wouldn’t love items named Salm I Am, Tim Curry, Wedgey and Fungus Among Us? Located in the heart of the Alberta district, they serve fresh from the farm, organic, and free-range products and follow sustainable business practices, such as composting 100% of your left-overs.
Enjoy covered outdoor dining with a brick fireplace or the cozy, eclectic indoors. Service is always friendly and although the only complaint is the wait to be seated, you can quiet the hunger pains with coffee or water.
The multiple times dined there, I’ve only had breakfast, but because it’s always good, I can’t help but have it again. My go to dish is Everything Nice: a potato cake, scrambled eggs, sweet potato brioche French toast and your choice of meat (veggie or vegan sausage available). Both salty and sweet tooth’s will be very satisfied. For some southern love, I highly recommend the cheesy grits or scratch buttermilk biscuit.
No matter your dietary needs—vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or meat lovers, there’s something delicious for everyone. Have a four-legged friend in your party? Tin Shed welcomes dogs, spoiling them with water and cookies. There’s even a Doggie menu and in the winter, bring your pooch to have his picture taken with Santa. In the summer there’s live music Thursday nights and every month they feature a new local artist.
Tin Shed: great food, service and love for the community. So worth the wait.
