Industrial metal's long-time greats, Static-X rolled through Cincinnati last night at the legendary, Bogarts bringing with them the same power and energy they were delivering to crowds nearly 15 years ago when first coming on to the scene.
Audience members of all ages, both long-time fans and brand new inductees were in attendance to see these masters of metal do what they do best, bring the house down with dizzying drum fills, crushing guitar riffs and face melting vocals. The setlist included songs both new and old but it didn't seem to matter, as the crowd was just in to one as they were the other.
Going to a Static-X show is almost like stepping in to a heavy metal time machine. Their song structures are clearly influenced by so many generations of rock from Judas Priest to KISS. They take these inspirations, mold them into their own sound and deliver them with precision. It's not often bands last this long, and even more rare they're playing larger concert halls like Bogarts this long into their career, but somehow, the fans will never let this band die. And that's a good thing for music, metal and anyone who needs to let out a little aggression after a long hard day.
Catch Static-X this Friday, August 10th as they come to Dayton's very own McGuffy's House of Rock. You also have the chance of meeting lead singer, Wayne Static at the Guitar Center by the Dayton Mall at 7:00pm. It should also be mentioned, this is a bit of a home coming for new Static-X drummer, Sean Davidson - a Dayton, Ohio native.
