There was a wide range of books examined here in 2013 and it looks like the trend of diversity will continue in 2014. From mystery, horror, fantasy, graphic novels and even young readers, there was something for everyone. We also dug into works of historical significance as well as a few books that simply made us smarter. Okay, this might not have happen with everything reviewed here, but sometimes it felt like it did.

Let’s take a look back at the year in reviews by the Howell Book Examiner.

Spirit Singer by Edward Willett

Much Ado About Nothing: A Film by Joss Whedon

Deliverance by James Dickey

American Sniper by Chris Kyle

Brick by Brick by David C. Robertson

American Gun - A History of the U.S. in Ten Firearms by Chris Kyle

Sandstorm, Alan L. Lee

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

Hawke’s Special Forces Survival Handbook by Mykel Hawke

Colder than Hell by Anthony Neil Smith

Steve Jobs / Genius by Design written by Jason Quinn and illustrated by Amit Tayal

Please select any of these titles to revisit the reviews posted in 2013 and feel free to return in 2014 for even more.
