The North shore area heats up with the addition of the Yard House restaurant. This is the third restaurant in the state for these newcomers. I will say tell you, it’s a keeper. I had the pleasure to visit the restaurant during its VIP night prior to its official opening.
The restaurant smelled new, with a beautiful design showcased by a huge bar. To the left of the bar is a large, glass enclosed keg room, stocked full of beer kegs. The bright blue hue of neon throughout the keg room encourages the guest to look inside, to see its beauty.
Yard house was created and founded by Steele Platt along with partners Harald Herrmann and Carlito Jocson. They envisioned a place with one of the largest selections of draft beer,(129) a diverse menu and great music on a fantastic sound system. Yard House is now owned by Darden Restaurants, (olive garden, red lobster, etc) They have kept the Yard House as is, and not changed it to conform to any corporate procedure or policy. If you didn't know it, it doesn't feel corporate.
The attraction of the restaurant is its draft beer selection of course. Currently at 129 draft beers, the Yard house offers many types of beer to please any palate. Go big with the half yard, or try the smaller offering including the ‘Shorty,’ which is nine and a half ounces of goodness.
There is a large menu from this scratch kitchen, and the culinary team takes pride in its large menu. A favorite appetizer was the Moo Shu eggrolls, stuffed with chicken, chili cream cheese, carrots, green onions, cilantro and spinach. Served with a delicious apple plum dipping sauce. It is to die for.
Entrees include seafood; beef and pasta ‘try the garlic noodles’ and are priced for what you would expect for a scratch kitchen concept. Honesty is the best policy here. The food is off the charts delicious and one could spend five days a week dining here. It’s that good.
Come to the Yard House for some excellent ambiance, great beer and cocktails, great music and friendly people. Come to the Yard House for the food, it is truly a rewarding experience.
The yard house is located at 340 Market Street, in the new market street outdoor mall in Lynnfield.
