The X Factor” aired the live season finale on Dec. 19 in which the Top 13 finalists returned to take the stage with Top 3 finalists Jeff Gutt, Carlito Olivero and Alex and Sierra.

A new “X Factor” winner was crowned in a spectacular two-hour event which featured performances from music industry giants like Mary J. Blige, One Direction, Lea Michele, Leona Lewis and Pitbull. With Christmas only a few days away, the show raised some holiday cheer with each of the Top 3 finalists performing a Christmas song.

Carlito Olivero kicked off the holiday finalist performances with a lively rendition of “Baby Please Come Home” and Jeff Gutt followed with a captivating delivery of the beloved Christmas carol, “O Holy Night.” Dressed in tie and tails, Jeff looked like he was in the middle of a classic wintery Dickens scene, with snow falling softly behind him.

This song has been covered by some highly decorated and distinguished artists like Mariah Carey, Bing Crosby, Josh Groban, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, to name a few, and is a song which offers powerful reverence to the true meaning of a cherished and important holiday.

Jeff Gutt’s moving rendition was filled with his signature passion and power and will be remembered as his own, as he joins an elite list of artists who have previously performed and recorded it. It was heartwarming to see his family’s tribute messages following his performance, especially from his five-year-old son, Talon, who is obviously so proud of his daddy. Talon’s sunny disposition and sparkling smile will remain a joyous and memorable part of the devoted single dad’s spectacular journey.

It’s been a long and exciting ride for Michigan rocker Jeff Gutt, who finished as runner up to Simon Cowell’s duo Alex and Sierra. Paulina Rubio’s Carlito Olivero finished in third.

Throughout this amazing experience, Jeff has graciously and continuously thanked his mentor Kelly Rowland, who has obviously fostered a strong belief in both his genuine character and his sensational natural talent. He has also extended abundant, enthusiastic and sincere appreciation to his growing fan base. Loyal supporters continue to shower Jeff with messages of praise, love and encouragement across his social media network, for what is certain to be just the start of a long and fulfilling music career.

Overall, the very talented, humble and grounded Jeff Gutt continues to make his home state proud of all he’s achieved. He certainly has a lot to celebrate this Christmas, as he launches what undoubtedly will be a fantastic career in the year ahead.
