If you inspire others to become an entrepreneur, you create jobs, even during a recession, you mentor others and you give back to the community, you are the ultimate Entrepreneur. That’s according to The World Networks, a global networking company that screened some 35 nominations for the 2014 “Entrepreneur of the year”.

Those were just some of the characteristics use to single out outstanding business owners. The awards were held this week (Wednesday, August 27, 2014) at the DeLuxe Restaurant, Burbank, CA.

The event kicked off the night with a glamorous red carpet featuring some of LA’s most influential CEO’s, celebrity fashion designers, entertainment industry leaders among other incredible entrepreneurs making a difference in the community.

Judges included Harry Leon (Cresenta Valley Town Council-council member), Ginger Mandes (Vice President, AML Filed Officer, Retail Banking and Wealth Management HSBC), and George S. McQuade III (Director of Communications, Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA).

Winners of The World Networks 2014 Entrepreneur Awards are:

Honorary Ambassador of the Year Award was presented to unique entrepreneurs for their extensive involvement in the community and supporting charities all while embracing entrepreneurship. Award winners included: James Huang, president & CEO, BRC Advisors; Asko Akopyan, manager/producer/CEO, iTalent Group, Empire Media Center, and Oscar Gold Productions; Michael Tse, chairman/director/VP, executive board member; Fashion Supermodel, Judy Karman, actress, producer; Michael Lesner, producer/executive producer; Chester Chung, president of Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles; John Calwile Vinestreet, CEO, Vinestreet Music Consulting; Lily Lisa, producer/regional adviser/actress/event organizer/ TV, film producer; Walter Mendez, celebrity fashion designer; Armine Amiryan, journalist, head of News Dept. at USArmenia TV;

Guests enjoyed complimentary hor’dourves and sponsored cocktails by Crystal Bartenders and Helsinki Premium Vodka. The world class networking reception prior to the ceremony featured more than 200 international entrepreneurs.

Jessica Surls and Cameron Penny hosted the event with a special performance by Isaac Hanna. Event sponsors included BRC Advisors, Adfora.com, Oscar Gold Productions, Sedna Solutions, LNR Production Studio, The Chinese American Network and De Luxe Banquet Hall. Companies and enterepreneurs donating time and products included, Owner George Balian, B&B Limo Services, North Hollywood. When asked what it takes to be a successful enterepreneur he said, “You need to have a lot of patience, be prepared for working seven days a week and don’t stop networking,” he said. “This Enterpreneur of the Year event is a great opportunity to discover new business leads and I’m glad I was able to help out.”

Balin also said, “you must believe in yourself before you start your business. Take your time and do it right the first time. Find a mentor and network, network, network,” he said.
