The Watershed Recovery Treatment Programs (Photos)

Recently I was introduced to a local Recovery Treatment Center that seems to offer a wonderful environment, caring staff, healthy food and a place to release the internal and external barriers to healing. Support in terms of staff, food, environment and the process of re-entry into the outside world can make the difference between recovery and eventual relapse.

  • What makes The Watershed a better or more accessible place than any of the other local treatment facilities?

The Watershed offers a full continuum of care, ranging from medical detoxification, to inpatient rehab, to outpatient programs, and finally, to sober living communities. The Watershed is a full service addiction treatment center in Florida where patients receive personal attention right from the beginning. Many other treatment programs can not offer medical detox and as a result, this can come right out of a patients pocket and even take away from their treatment needs. We believe it is crucial for our patients to start their treatment program the moment they enter our doors. Our experience shows that by remaining in our continuum of care, the smoother the transition is for an addict and alcoholic back into the real world, and the better opportunity they have at long term recovery. We continue to support our Alumni long after they have left treatment.

How long has this facility been operating?

The Watershed admitted their first patient on May 1st 1998 and has treated over 35,000 individuals since.

How much does it cost to get addiction treatment at The Watershed?

Treatment costs can vary from patient to patient depending on many factors, including insurance coverage, so we encourage prospective patients to call for a personalized estimate. The Watershed accepts most commercial health insurance plans and we will work with our patients to make any uncovered amount affordable so that this is not an obstacle to getting help. Some of our patients and their families who are not covered by health insurance self-fund their treatment.

    Is it covered by insurance?

The Watershed works with our patients to make treatment as affordable as possible. We believe in working with our patients so that they can have a successful and full recovery without the threat of relapse over financial difficulties. The insurance accepted at The Watershed are:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Aetna
  • United Health (UHC UBH)
  • Magellan Behavioral Health Care
  • Anthem Blue Cross
  • WellPoint
  • and many others (call to verify)

The place looks so beautiful that it can be a great escape but what happens when the patients return to their more dreary real-life world and are more isolated and not surrounded by so much support?

The Watershed provides a full continuum of care for all of the patients when they leave the facility. This could include help finding a halfway house,12 Step Programs, or alternative options that best suit their needs. Patients are called within the first few days of being discharged from the facility to make sure that everything is going okay and help them find AA or NA groups in their area. They are then checked on after 3, 6, 9, and 12 months to make sure they are still following the program. The Watershed also reaches out to family members of the patient to help them facilitate their loved ones aftercare program. Through the continuum of care, Watershed alumni are encouraged to sign up for livesinrecovery.com which is the Watershed’s social networking and alumni site. Everyone who has joined the site has also gone through substance abuse treatment and its a great resource to find support from others going through similar stages of recovery.
