Rachel McAdms and Channing Tatum act magnificently and have a connection so obvious that one can see it and feel it in this 2012 love story based on true events. It opens with the line “Life is all about the moments, of impact and how they change our lives forever. But what if one day you could no longer remember any of them.” It deals with traumatic brain injury and gives an insight into the residual effects that are often hidden from general view. Brain injuries are more common than one would think. This very issue is at the height of the NFL crack down. Congress has passed a bill regarding safety equipment to assist in preventing such injuries.
McAdams as Paige portrays the memory loss that can occur with a traumatic brain injury. She searches to find her way back to the world she is told about by others. Manipulation by her mother, father, family and friends tries to alter her perception of reality. Everyone wants to change past events in the hopes of creating a brighter future. That is everyone except her husband, who loved her and still loves just for who she is. Tatum as Leo, demonstrates the meaning of unconditional love.
“Life is all about the moments, of impact.”
