The Top 10 Restaurants in the Quad City Area

When I began writing these reviews a year ago, my intention was to help those like me, people with limited incomes who liked to eat out.  The food had to be good, and under $10.00, and the QCA definitely came though.  This has all been so much fun, and who would have guessed I would have gotten so much more out of it all than those who have read these reviews.  I really want to thank all of you who have gone along with me, given me your honest opinions, and even let me sample your food.  That is the sign of a true friend!

This is a list of what I think have been the 10 best restaurants eaten at this year.  I'm sure no one will agree with all of them, but that's ok - your honest opinions have taught me too much, keep them coming.  None of these, except for No. 1 and No. 2, are in any particular order.  And some fantastic places aren't here, because they're on my 10 Favorite Ethnic Places, or the list of those restaurants that were a real surprise, both coming next.

Thanks, you guys, for everything.

No. 10 - Deerfield Restaurant in Silvis.  You just can't beat their new menu, amount and quality of food, and the prices.

No. 9 - Cafe Fresh in Moline.  I haven't been in the new location, but I'm sure the food is as good.  The first time I've ordered a wrap and enjoyed it.

No. 8 - Ganson's in Rock Island.  A warm welcoming little restaurant that proves the people of the QCA are open to new and innovative things.

No. 7 - Jersey Grill in Davenport.  You want a good Philly Steak, a whole lot of big TVs, and a fun atmosphere?  Here you go.

No. 6 - Pickerman's in Rock Island.  It's just about the best luncheon place you'll find anywhere - quality is top priority.

No. 5 - Jimmy's Pancake House in Bettendorf.  The pancakes and French toast here are just simply the best.

No. 4 - Riefe's in Davenport.  Again, a large varied menu, and lots of good food served inexpensively.

No. 3 - Chop House in Moline, the bar menu.  I sure wasn't thrilled with french fries, but that steakburger puts all the rest of them to shame!

No. 2 - Five Brothers in Peoria - It may be a chain, but the hamburgers here are even better than at the Chop House, dollar for dollar - I sure wish they'd come here....

No. 1 - Lisa's Place in Atkinson, Ill.  What can I say that hasn't been said by every person who's ever eaten there?  It's what real homecooking is all about, in the warm little town of Atkinson.
