The Toadies at House of Blues Orlando

The Toadies performed at the House of Blues Orlando in Downtown Disney on the evening of May 17, 2014. This was their last stop of their Rubberneck tour in which they played the entire Rubberneck album from start to finish.

The entire night was a flashback to the start of the alternative music days. The Toadies were not just part of this movement but their style of music helped create it. Performing their entire Rubberneck album it was obvious by the reaction of the fans and their smiling faces that they all went down their own memory lanes. Todd Lewis (vocals, guitar) has a very recognizable grunge tone to his voice that can be recognized by almost everyone who lived through the beginning of the alternative music days.

They performed their famous hits: Possum Kingdom, I Come From the Water, and Tyler are the most heard worldwide. Before their set they joined the two openers (Battleme and Supersuckers) at the end of their sets to have fun and tease the crowd a bit. It was their last show of the tour so this kind of fun was expected and it was received quite well.

The Toadies are truly kings of their own music genre. They are a classic and a permanent foundation to alternative music. Hopefully, they will continue to rock on and come back again to the House of Blues Orlando.
