Sons of Britches

Branson's Sons of Britches

I saw the show twice. The music was different both times. The SOBs jump in and out of comedy routines and musical styles quicker than you can text Must See Sons of Britches.

Sons of Britches is a new group made up of veteran performers. If they look familiar, you may have seen them in other popular Branson music shows. Between the three of them, they have over a 100 years of experience in the Branson spotlight.

This trio of talent hits the stage all gussied up in tux shirts, bib overalls, and black bow ties. You won't see a better dressed bunch of musical historians. Unless you see their show twice.

If you have a favorite music style, just shout out a request. The SOBs can bounce from country, cajun, zydeco, bluegrass and good ol’ time rock ‘n roll. All you have to do is ask and John (Sidedish) Fullerton will burst into a yodel.

Everyone loves to watch Louis (Squirrel Dog) Darby fiddle and dance at the same time. How does he do that without missing a beat? Who knows. He is probably good at that “pat your head and rub you tummy thing too.

When Earl (Melvin) Vaughan takes off with a riff on an old rock and roll classic, it may be some of the best guitar playing you will hear in Branson.

Little Opry Theatre seems made for the Sons of Britches. It is a pleasant surprise to find the intimate little theatre at the IMAX, Entertainment Complex.

“The Little Opry Theatre is a perfect fit for the musical talent and humor The Sons of Britches will bring to the stage and more importantly, entertainment to our guests,” said Randy Brashers, President of IMAX Entertainment Complex in a recent press release. “As quaint and intimate as our theater is, they will definitely fill it with their own brand of hillbilly chic, complete with overalls, white dress shirts and bow ties.”

Showtimes now thru December 13, 2014 are Friday and Saturday at 2:00 PM and Sunday and Monday at 8:00 PM.

2014 ticket price is
$25.00 plus tax for Adults and children 12 & under free, a bargain for an evenings entertainment in Branson.
