The Super Pet Expo opened in Edison in the wake of Nemo (Photos)

In the wake of snowstorm Nemo, the Super Pet Expo was up and running as if the snowstorm never happened. The show opened its doors on Saturday, February 9 and continued as planned through February 10. Late morning Sunday, there was hardly a parking space to be found as visitors filed through the doors with pets in tow.

Leashed pets accompanied owners not only on foot, but came along in carts and carriages. Some pets were dressed to the nines, sporting high fashion winter wear and fancy bows and ribbons. There was even a large blue dog walking the event with its owner.

The educational events and entertainment took place on schedule. Highlights again included the Wolf Visions seminar and the chance to see a full blooded wolf up close and personal. The reptile show did not disappoint as children and adults alike were in awe of the snakes and alligators they could see and even touch in some instances.

The Marvelous Mutts show was great fun to watch, and the pony rides appeared to be a delight for the children.

Vendors offered everything from pet clothing and jewelry to pet insurance and pet food. Animal rescue groups worked their magic by showcasing adoptable pets, and visitors could not help but stop and chat with the representatives and inquire about the animals in need of forever homes.

While dogs were in the majority of pet visitors to the event, some people also brought along pet rabbits for a day out with the family.

This is definitely a family oriented event with something at the show to excite children, adults and pets. There’s never a dull moment at the Super Pet Expo, so add next year’s date to your calendar as a “must attend” event. You’ll be glad you did.
