The Star Road Map is a 78 card divinatory deck and companion book, based on the ancient world view of the Mesoamericans.
In the Maya world view, the universe is seen as a web of creative interconnected energies of time and space on different hierarchical levels.
The deck incorporates the energies and images of the past to give the reader a new perspective of how these energies affect our everyday life.
· The Major Arcana cards have been adapted to the Mesoamerican world view.
· The Day cards present energies of specific days.
· The Four Direction cards carry influence on the rest of the cards in the spread.
· The Overworld cards - spiritual influences.
· The Underworld cards - the maturation of the human brain.
· The Intercession cards - intervention by Creator.
It is the interaction of all of these energies that begins to create a multidimensional picture of the energies affecting ourselves and Mother Earth in the past, present, or future.
The guide book shares information on the Mesoamericans and their world views and thoughts from the authors for the creation of this deck. Each card is presented with an image and related information. The information varies depending on the card class. The guide closes with suggested spreads and example readings.
The cards at 3 ½” by 5” are of glossy, sturdy stock. Although the deck itself is somewhat thick, I found the cards easy to shuffle and held an obvious energy within them. The artwork based on the Mesoamerican beliefs and images is of an abstract nature. With an open mind, the energies and suggested meanings are presented in each card.
Exploring the deck through a 6 card reading, I found the suggested meanings and the energies in-line with the question involved.
