The Sourdough Cheeseburger at Humble Pie

It’s not often you find a restaurant that specializes in pizza that also has burgers on the menu, but in in this day and age of trying to cover all the bases your seeing several pizza establishments serving burgers too. Humble Pie is one those places that offers a burger option at their 3 Phoenix & Scottsdale locations. With 2 burgers on the menu the Sourdough Cheeseburger ($9.95) sounded the better of the 2.

Served between 2 slices of toasted Sourdough bread, this broiled burger is topped with caramelized onions and melted Swiss cheese. The bread is spread with house dressing that tasted like a flavored mayo. Served cut in half on the diagonal for sharing, its juices dripping out from the proper temperature this burger is quite good as the cooking method used keeps the greasy, fatty taste you wouldn’t have had if it were grilled. Combined with the sweetness of the onions, the sharp Swiss cheese flavor and the taste the Sourdough offers and you have a very good burger from a restaurant that specializes in pizza. A generous mixed green salad tossed lightly with herbed vinaigrette accompanies your burger or you can choose from fries or cottage cheese if you like. With a 4th location opening soon, I’m sure there will be more in the future and you would be doing yourself a favor to trying the burger as well as their pizza.
