On February 20th, I was provided a great opportunity to check out Snoop Lion aka "Snoop Dogg" (government name Calvin Cordozar Broadus) at Nashville's Cannery Ballroom in concert.
The west coast legend Snoop Lion entered the stage rocking a Tennessee Titan, Steve McNair jersey, jeans, and sneakers.
Snoop Lion and Daz moved a sold out crowd opening up with "I Wanna Rock" and taking us through some of our classic Snoop favorites like: "Gin and Juice," "Snoop Doggy Dogg," "Down for My Nig*as,"So High," "Next Episode," "Lodi Dodi,"I Wanna F*ck You,"PIMP remix" and many more.
He even added some love to the show as only he can do it. Snoop Lion played "Make it Last Forever" and serenaded a fan with dance and told her he needed to bring her backstage. (Snoop served up his charm as he only he can do it.) He had the crowd jumping with Cypress Hill's "Jump Around" and added some rock n roll with "I Love Rock N Roll."
Of course the icing on the cake was the special tribute Snoop did to Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, and his fallen brother Nate Dogg. It was definitely an eye catching moment.
The surprise of the night was when Nashville's own rapper, Young Buck hit the stage with Snoop.
By the end of the show Snoop Lion told the crowd he loved Tennessee and would come back anytime. His last number before leaving was his track with Wiz Khalifa called, "Young, Wild & Free."
He even took the time to sign a few autographs, shake hands and give a few hugs before he left the stage. He even received a full size bra onstage from a female fan. The crowd was definitely loving Snoop. They chanted his name after the show awaiting an encore, however Snoop was on to the next episode.
Overall, the Cannery Ballroom was a great venue and the perfect atmosphere for Snoop Lion to perform! If you ever have the opportunity to attend a Snoop Lion concert we definitely advise you to check it out!
