“The Ruby Notebook” holds the key to many secrets

Every year, Zeeta and her free spirited mother, Layla live in a different country, and every year, Zeeta keeps track of the people she meets and the places she visits in different colored notebooks. This year, the country is France and the notebooks are ruby. The Ruby Notebook, by Colorado author, Laura Resau, is filled with mysteries uncovered by this curious sixteen year old girl, who struggles to find her true self through the wisdom of others. In The Ruby Notebook, Zeeta has not one, but two mysteries to solve, one leading back to an old mystery that she had given up ever trying to solve. She plans to do it with the help of her boyfriend, Wendell, who she met in Ecuador last year, (in The Indigo Notebook). Zeeta believes that he is the love of her life, and he’s coming to France to go to school and to be with her. She emails him five times a day and can’t wait for his arrival. But then she meets Jean-Claude, the handsome accordion player, and her feelings become tangled and confused.  Zeeta is close to losing Wendell forever, and fears that it may be too late.  Before she can solve the mysteries, Zeeta must face her own fears to discover whether or not Wendell truly is the one for her.  Through a cast of colorful characters, from Vincent, the pigeon man, to Amandine, the natural acrobat, to Tortue, the sad faced mime, this teen adventure/romance will hold readers interest, as they anxiously await, to find out what Zeeta ‘s next move will be.  Will Zeeta solve the mystery of the phantom that keeps secretly placing items in her bag when she’s not looking? Will she find the magical waters of Aux?  And will she finally discover who her father is? To find out, you will have to read The Ruby Notebook.
