This cozy neighborhood tap-house has a lot of appeal, no pun intended.
I decided to check out this place on a recommendation and also because I am feeling my way around the reinvented Cotswold area of Charlotte, NC. My first impression is that of a modern roadhouse, but with a genuine hometown vibe. The beer selection is very good and they feature some outstanding microbrews. Pizza and beer go together naturally. The more flavor each one has, the better the combination blends.
The Pizza Peel is casual and rustic which also creates a hip and chic atmosphere. They have four large TV screens and the dining area is one large open space. Their gourmet pizzas are definitely made with some attention to detail with authentic recipes. The menu features a lot of variety in pastas, sandwiches, salads and appetizers. You can call ahead for take-out and they also offer delivery. They also do catering, hold monthly events and have daily specials.
The Pizza Peel has over 40+ beers on tap and they feature an even more impressive eclectic mix of bottled beers. They created a “beer club” so beer connoisseurs can try various beers and build points like a reward level program. The goal of The Pizza Peel and Tap Room’s Beer Club is for you to get out of your normal beer routine and try some new and exciting beer options. They have 43 rotating taps and tons of bottles to choose from. To become a member, just ask your server or bartender for a sign-up sheet. They will keep track your beer list for you. (There is a four beer limit that is applied to each visit)
