We've waited long enough and now with less than a week to go on St. Patty's Day Paul Thorn will grace the Sportsmen's Tavern stage to a sold out show. This will be Paul Thorn's forth time at the Sportsmen's Tavern and has seen it grow just like the patrons have. Last year when Paul played the Sportsmen's Tavern it was still being renevated. Now with the renovations done he still sold out the Sportsmen's.
The Paul Thorn Band consists of: Bill Hinds on guitars; Michael Graham on keys; Ralph Friedrichsen on bass; and Jeffrey Perkins on drums. Paul Thorn is the singer, song-writer, guitarist who was a professional boxer. He fought former world champion Roberto Duran in a nationally telivised fight. And as Paul says "I was a good fighter but not a great fighter, I'm a better singer / song-writer" he says "He's a dreamer with big goals" and I'd say he is achieving those goals.
The Paul Thorn Band is a show like no other, you will see the band play the amazing songs they write and you will hear unbelieveable stories from Paul but then you may hear Paul play solo sets. Every show is different and every show is the best show you have seen.
Some of the songs this Buffalo crowd may hear are: "What the Hell is Goin' on?"; "Better Days Ahead"; "That's Life"; "Snake Farm"; "Ain't Love Strange"; "Mood Ring"; "I Don't Like Half the Folks I Love"; "You Might Be Wrong".
Don't be green with envy if you can't get a ticket to this show. I think this Buffalo crowd can talk Paul and the band into coming to the Sportsmen's for 2 nights the next time they come through town. He is a Sportsmen's favorite and Sunday can't come soon enough.
