Patty Melt's don't always get the respect they deserve in the burger world, after all they have the same burger philosophy w/ meat, melted cheese and onions between the bun I mean between the bread, rye bread specifically. But why the lack of respect, probably because rarely are you asked how you'd like your Patty Melt prepared and you don't see much variation from Patty Melt to Patty Melt.
At Venues Cafe http://venuescafe.com/ in Carefree, the Venues Patty Melt ($12.95) is 1 of 2 burgers on the menu and they do it justice despite the higher than normal price tag, hey it's Carefree after all. Placed between 2 pieces of toasted Marble rye, this pink it the middle, medium rare melt is topped with sautéed onions and melted Swiss cheese and the bread is spread with Russian dressing all your typical Patty Melt topping. Dripping with its own juices mixed with the sautéed onions this is one of the better Patty Melts I've had.
To accompany you're Patty Melt a choice of French fries or homemade potato chips are offered along with a pickle spear. You can upgrade to sweet potato fries or onion rings for $2.
