Recently divorced John James moves to South Carolina with his two children, teenage Louisa and 9-year old, Sam. Soon after moving into their southern home John begins to notice changes in Louisa. First, thinking that it was normal teenage changes he ignores it, but when he cannot seem to get her to stop digging in a large mound found on their property he begins to investigate.
John finds out that the mound was an ancient Indian burial mound where the most revered men and women were buried. The prophecy stated that an unsuspecting girl would be their savior and give birth to a new species.
When John hears the prophecy he learns all he can about the previous owners of the house. He finds out some damaging things about a 16-year old girl that became disturbed after living in the house for a short time. John is determined to protect his daughter even if it means his life.
In my opinion, this movie was very dark, no I mean physically dark, but then again they were crawling around under a mound of dirt.
I did like it, but some tweaking could be done to make it better. The end, I won’t spoil it, was unexpected which made it good.
