The Neighbors

The Neighbors is the best new comedy that you aren’t watching. When the show first premiered it was kind of weak and since then it has been getting stronger and stronger. It has really blossom in to a fun show. With each passing episode it is getting funnier and finding its rhythm. If you watched the first episode or even the few after it then gave up on it you should really give it another chance and if you haven’t seen it now is a good time to start watching. The show hasn’t been drawing in a big audience; it would be ashamed if it didn’t get picked up for a second season, especially now that it has become such a charming little show. The show is about a family that moves into a gated community that happens to be where a community of Aliens live. In the pilot the Weaver’s discover they are living next to Aliens. The Aliens are trying to live like humans learning about our culture from the Weavers.
This week Larry Bird and Jackie Joyner-Kersee discover Broadway. Debbie and Marty tell Larry and Jackie not to go with out them because they are afraid that with out them Larry and Jackie will some how get discovered. Larry and Jackie sneak out to New York anyway and enjoy Broadway so much so that they decide to put on a musical themselves. Debbie and Marty are not happy that they didn’t listen to them about going to New York by themselves. When they are putting on the musical and Dick falls through the well they decide to not call the Weaver’s for help instead they call the police. Which as Marty points out was not a good idea, because Larry Bird and Jackie Joyner-Kersee don’t have paper work and how will they explain their family and unusual names. Jackie starts to crack when there is a reporter there and is asking her a bunch of questions, at one point she tells the reporter that her son has a tail. Marty and Debbie try to deflect questions as to why everyone is dressed the same. In the end the reporter story doesn’t air because her producer doesn’t like it. Larry and Jackie realize that they do have to be more careful so they don’t get discovered.

The Neighbors airs locally on Channel 8 Wednesday nights at 8:30pm
