"Sailing" by The Music Plays You is an instrumental shoegaze EP.
It's stated on his Bandcamp page that this is the project of musician Nic Lake, and his first go at learning the process of recording.
The opening track starts out sparse and ethereal with ambient textures, sounding like the intro to a post rock build. Electric guitar is added, and the feel is elevated to a type of hopeful melancholy. The second track follows a similar formula.
The third track (entitled: 'Drop in the Ocean') starts off with a slightly more sinister sound accomplished through heavy keys, before eventually dropping back into the dreamy mood set with wet guitars that can be found throughout the entirety of the EP.
Altogether "Sailing" is perfectly enjoyable mood music, ideal for reading, meditation, or just to get lost in. It's also of note that the production settings aren't of poor quality either. In my opinion as an initial go at recording, Lake has greatly succeeded.
