It's that typical time of year that the general population creates goals for their personal and professional lives in hopes of improving their lot in life. Weight loss and fitness goals are likely to top the list and finances are sure to be there too. What about marriage or relationship goals? Improve the relationship, save it perhaps if it seems to be sliding towards dissolution, or just pledge to take more time for each other. If a goal is to deepen the relationship in any way, check out the book The Marriage Challenge. Every week everyone in the relationship is to read the short passage and have a conversation based on that passage. No worries if you're feeling g tongue tied, there's prompts to get the ball rolling. The idea is that spending time discussing various aspects of the relationship, just for an hour a week, over the year you will have a much richer relationship. If the relationship was falling, perhaps there will be some insight into why, or perhaps you will still be ready to leave, but gullible that you truly did try to improve it before walking away. It's the beginning of the year, a perfect time to begin your relationship transformation.
