Jo-jo’s Pizza is family owned restaurant in the Northwest Valley, located at 23425 N. 39th Dr. in Glendale. Not quite a dive, not quite a sports bar, not quite a full-fledged Italian restaurant, this little Italian restaurant that could has been serving some of the best pizza in town for the past 10 years.
Walking in, there are no signs to direct you to seat yourself but there are plenty of regulars willing to let you know how it’s done. Simple tables with wood chairs and TV screens are all around the perimeter of this restaurant—no Italian opera or painted murals of Italy here.
Grab a menu on the table and feast your eyes on the endless variety of appetizers, hero sandwiches, pasta, salads, dessert and of course pizza with a choice of 26 different toppings.
A friendly waitress will bring you your drink in a Styrofoam cup with a smile. The pizza is served hot with the perfect combination of cheese, sauce and peppery pepperoni. The chef salad is big enough to share with house dressing so good you’ll ask for extra just to take home.
Their turkey and provolone hero was okay, but any local sub restaurant could probably produce a better product. Overall the service is fabulous, the food is fantastic and with a reasonably priced menu the only complaint that can be made is that there is only one of these in the Valley.
