The Chicago Independent Music Awards was a pure celebration of music in true Chicago style. The historic Field Museum was the perfect setting to celebrate Chicago artists. Excitement quickly filled the room as artists strolled the red carpet in the atrium. The evening started with a VIP cocktail reception, where the nominees mingled with guests and media.
The energy in the theater created a positive and supportive atmosphere. Everyone seemed genuinely glad to just be there, no matter who won. The performances were absolutely stellar and delighted the audience regardless of genre. The quality of the music and presentation were flawless. Guests included: Isaiah Grass, Mike Gallagher & Higher Power, The Fireside Silhouettes, Honey & the 45s, Shaun Hoffman, B.I.S.I Chicago Dance and Justin Ruff.
The Chicago Independent Music Awards is a vehicle to encourage and celebrate the "little-known" or "yet-to-be-discovered" musical talent in Chicago. A portion of the proceeds went to benefit Rock for Kids, which provide music education for underserved children in Chicago.
