Sherlock Holmes faces a creature for legend in The Hound of the Baskerville (1902).
Sir Charles Baskerville has been found dead and his only heir is his nephew Sir Henry. Sir Henry is now headed to England and Dr. Mortimer is scared for his life and called in Sherlock Holmes.
Once at the manor, Holmes and Watson learn the story behind the hound legend. Two centuries ago , Hugo Baskerville kidnapped a farmer’s daughter. She escaped and he offered his soul to the devil if he could recapture her. But both Hugo and the girl were found dead, one from fight and one after having his throat out by a giant spectral hound.
It was said the Sir Charles was fearful of the curse and the night he died, he was waiting for someone one on the moor and there were mysterious footprints near the body.
Together Holmes and Watson gather clues to solve the mystery by learning about the family line and about the neighbors that surround Baskerville Hall on the lonely moor.
