Crystal Chappell is back with her production company (Open Book Productions) and their newest production, "The Grove". It is appearing online and lasts an hour and nine minutes long. This is the pilot and promises a much longer series.
The Grove will give us all of the love, sex, intrigue and scandal we could ask for. It brings the love story of Nico Moynahan (Crystal Chappell) and Ivy Rodriquez (Jessica Leccia). They were able to have a legal ceremony in California before the Prop 8 made same sex marriages illegal. Now they want a big celebration with all of their family and friends.
The story lines begin with Nico(Crystal Chappelle) and Ivy's(Jessica Leccia)love story, Doyle's(Robert S Woods) the father who loves his daughter, Nico, but worries about her life choices, and Max(Christian LeBlanc) vs. Sean(Mark Hapka) who is in big trouble owing Max , the resident drug dealer, five hundred thousand dollars.
We also see Johnny (Peter Reckell) in a possible love triangle between Lauren (Michelle Stafford) and Katherine (Bobby Eakes) , also there is a question of whether Prissy (Judi Evans) will ever be truly happy and Poppy (Linsey Godfrey) who is boy crazy in a town without boys. Add to this Marigold (Nadia Bjorlin) and Gloria (Beth Maitland) watching telenovela's and you have the start of a wonderful new soap, Chappelle style.
This new soap written by Paul Barber (21 Jump Street, Cagney and Lacey) and led by the amazing Crystal Chappell.
"You are invited to join CORDELIA NICOLETTE (Nico) and IVY ROSE in the re-swearing of their Vows, at the Old Grove Inn and Tavern on the Central Coast of California in the town of THE GROVE."
That would be Nico Moynihan, of The Moynihan's, the original Irish settlers who planted almond trees in the 19th Century, on the hundreds of acres that would eventually become known as The Grove.

Ms. Chappell is a true artist with unbelievably creative ideas and this is one of her best. The story, the cast, the place, are all just what we have been waiting for.
