The Gray Zone: More UFO art from the mind of Roger Phillips

Humor and the paranormal are a longtime American tradition as we love to poke fun at what scares us or what we do not understand.

Artist Roger Phillips from Close Encounters Studios has just released two volumes of a cartoon series - "The Gray Zone" - where his little gray creatures get into all kinds of situations - Far Side style.

Apparrently his 1,493 Facebook fans are already tuned into the comedy as he dedicates the work to them in Volume Two. The daily cartoons can be seen on his Close Encounters page.

We've featured Phillips' work from his studio in Mahopac, NY, where he creates UFO sculptures. Take a look at some of his designs - or order one for yourself.  The Alien Cartoon Book comes free with the purchase of one of his sculptures.

Even the CBS show - The Big Bang Theory - uses one of his designs on the set of the new hit series. (Tim Allen once produced an entire show around one of my books for his "Home Improvement" sitcom - so I know the feeling of seeing your work in the background as a national audience looks on. Very nice.)

The sculptures are fantastic - fun and full of detail - and a great gift idea - (okay, or one for yourself) - and the cartoon book is awesome. Even with my own paranormal investigations and daliy coverage of UFOs, I have to take time now and again to have a laugh on the subject too.
