Jim and his mom are baking gingerbread men on Christmas Eve when they decide to make a pirate crew. Jim loved the captain the best with his cutlass and peg leg, which he was against leaving this cookie for Santa. Jim made a wish, wishing his special pirate cookie could have a ship. Being Christmas Eve, Captain Cookie seemed to come alive and have some adventures. Naturally, Captain Cookie and Santa Claus have a meeting, in which it changes Captain Cookie forever.

The Gingerbread Pirates by Kristin Kladstrup and illustrated by Matt Tavares is recommended for children between the ages of four through eight and is 32 pages long.
