After waiting for two very long years, The Game is officially back on BET. Game on!
The entire cast, including regulars Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall, are back for the fourth season of The Game, joined by new cast member Megan Goode.
Best news for Melanie, the baby is NOT Derwin's. Wow. What a relief. However, you would think she would be scared to tell Derwin that she gave his "son" a paternity test. Melanie is not "med school" anymore, she's now Mrs. Derwin Davis, so she has the guts to just come right out and tell him. But not only does she tell him and make him angry, she then tells him the results after he clearly told her that he didn't want to know, because regardless if DJ is his, he would still treat him as if he was. As the episode came to a close, Derwin gave into the fact that DJ is not his and comes crying to Melanie.
Until we find out that the baby IS Derwin's. What a rollercoaster of emotions. But will Melanie come to terms with herself and tell Derwin?
Jason and Kelly are going through a crisis with their divorce as Kelly is making a reality show based on being an ex-wife of a baller. Kelly has completely lost her mind. Her new hair-do is great and all, but her attitude has made a turn for the psycho. By the way BET, why is their daughter Britney so dark all of a sudden? Younger Britney had much lighter skin, based on the fact that Kelly is white and Jason is half white. She also had blonde hair in earlier episodes. I understand that they might not have been able to get the same girl to play Britney, but at least get one that looks somewhat similar to her.
Melik, Melik, Melik. Nothing has changed in the past two years. Melik is his same arrogant, selfish, pompous self. He's hooking up with his boss's wife and thinks the rules don't apply to him. He reminds me of every other celebrity out there who breaks rules and laws and thinks they can get away with murder. I'm very excited to see how his character will be punished throughout the season.
I just would love to know, what in the world happened to Rick Fox and Tasha Mack? Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks!
This episode was pretty amazing. I think the hype surrounding the show was given justice. The continuity of the story lines was mastered and viewers should be very excited about this fourth season. What will happen between Jason and Kelly, Derwin and Melanie, and the rest of the cast. Stay tuned to find out!

Love the article. But who I think the lady who now plays Kelly and Jason's daughter can pass as their daughter and since it's 2 years later she could have decided to dye her hair and her skin tone is around the same color so it doesn't matter!
Great first epiosde. It was full of twists and emotions. I hope Melanie does tell Derwin the truth, but what will he believe? Malik is worse this season than he's ever been. He's doing TT wrong! I love Jason! Tad-dow Kelly Pitts. What happened to Stacey Dash? They were a hot item? Um, Tasha Mack and Terrence, for real?! Great come back, can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds. Kudos BET!
Love that the show is back!!!!! Hate how dramatic they made the show! Its not funny anymore. Hate they way they did with kelly' s character (including the hair), Tasha is too much, they are overdoing her part!! And too much drama to wit Derwin and Melanie. I hope they bring back the game like it used to be.
I agree with you fan. I was not thrilled that it is so much drama. And can they ever give the Melanie and Derwin characters a break and let them just be happy without all the back and forth? I hope it gets funnier because if it stays like this..not feeling it.
I agree also fan. There's way too much drama and not so funny anymore. Tasha and Kelly's characters are too much and enough already with the drama with Melanie and Derwin. Not feeling this at all.........hopefully the other episodes get better but judging from how the first one ended, I don't believe that will be the case. Its a shame because I was really looking forward to it being back on.
I agree. The story lines are too serious! Whoever is writing for this show is coming from a very dark place. Please watch Seasons 1 -3 and return to that format. All of the silly baby mama and drunk driving drama takes away from what made this show a success. Go back to real storylines, plots, and interaction with the team. You are really missing the point of the show and why the fans demanded its return. Also, Melanie needs to go to work. Stop the madness!!!! There are more story lines than the typical drama the writers are using.
Before I call this editor is a moron, I need this clarified..OK...So maybe they weren't able to get the same actress to play the daughter...Are you insinuating that bc one parent is white + the other black, the offspring MUST be of a certain complexion???...Please answer NO!!!
Thank you for asking before calling me names... but like I said.. Kelly is white and Jason is half-white.. meaning Britney is only 1/4 black. I'm not only going from that.. In past seasons, younger Britney was much lighter + blonde hair. All I'm saying is, they should have kept those characteristics for the new Britney for the viewers' sake. Continuity. That's all!

You are slightly mistaken. Although Coby Bell is bi-racial in real life, his mother on the show, Lonette Mckee, is 1/2 black and 1/2 Scandinavian. Therefore Jason is only 1/4 white on the show. Although I know that still does not determine the skin color of a bi-racial child, its a detail that warrants clarification.

I didn't like the return, it seems to have lost the comedy and has become more of soap opera. I also thought it strange that Brittany was black, most of the characters are now super arrogant especially Malik, Tasha Mack walking around smoking a black and mild, to me was one of the biggest disappointments.T.T. who was hilarious is now playing a serious character, Melanie and Derwin's characters seem more true to their original characters.
The amount of sexual situations on the show surpassed any of the other shows of the previous season. For me the premiere was a disappointment.

I disagree with Derwin giving Janae a chance, cause she is just as ratchet as Melanie. Derwin is no saint neither let's not forget. I am disappointed in Melanie being so nieve about the baby. Ok he had a baby by some one else give it up. Truly this season is too serious and not entertaining.
All and all, I thought the return was pretty good, in that all the characters are continuing to evolve... some for the good, others for th bad.
Yes, I agree that some character roles need some tweaking, but in all fairness, it's been two years and did some of you really expect things to be the same as it was??
I'm more glad that the show is back and given what probably went on behind the scenes (i.e., negotiations, production, castings, gathering sponsorships, etc.,) we (as well as BET) are still better off having it on, than not. Give the show a chance folks. And to the Network Execs, Cast & Crew that may read this post... Hats off to you all for a really great comeback!
I was not happy with this episode or how the show is going. There is too much drama and glitz and glamour. Yes I know they are star football players but they were before as well and Malik went from a loft to Scarfaces house. Kelly's character is horrible now and it seems like the chemistry between the actors weren't there but it is the first season so it can get better. Its not a comedy anymore, more of a drama series. Seems like a bad reunion eposide. I am not sure if the writers are different but they will have to step up their 'game' (pun intended) if they want to even come close to the the season finale prior to this season, otherwise they should have left it off the air if they are coming this weak.
PS. changing Brit Brat is almost as bad as when the new Aunt Viv came on The Fresh Prince.
OMG! Thank you for referencing the world's absolute worse television character switch mid series in history--Aunt Viv on Fresh Prince!!! That new Aunt Viv was just HORRIBLE and so is this new Brit Brat. Actually, even this new Brit Brat doesn't compare to that horrible new Aunt Viv...but I digress. Also, the new Brit Brat looks much much older than 13; is it just me or does she have bags under her eyes?
For the most part, I enjoyed the reture of The Game. It had its good parts...even tho I CANT REMEMBER ANY!!! First, where and the hell is Rick Fox????? When Terrence said he had to keep his part a secret, I see why. Second, what has gotten into Malik!!!???? He is way worse. How can yo be sleeping with your bosses wife and not expect for him to find out. I cant wait to see what happens when it does. And y was he treating TT that way, and messing with his girl. He has just gotten outta control. Jason and Kelly still love each other and its crazy that they are going thru all that they are just to prove it. Before the end of the season, I think they will work out thier issues. Now Derwin, Mel, Janea and Baby DJ......Well its a lot of drama happening right there. Janea is a hot ass...prin mess. It did seem like she wanted what they had. I hate how she had went out and got a purse like Mel's. She doesnt have a job it seems like so I guess she is spending up the child support for the baby who accutually is Derwons. I hate how Mel was sneaky about the DNA test and how at the end she looked stupid. But its easy to feel where she is coming from, being married to a dude with a baby by a woman who is bout sneaky. I love the game and hope that after all the main issues are addressed its back to normal and back to funny. Cant wait til next Tuesday to see what happens!!!!
Ok, I agree with most of what you all had to say. I am a major supporter of the show coming back & was so hyped last night. Kelly is not the fun loving chick she was but divorce can make you bitter & she is extremely over-the-top. Malik, OMG way worse than ever no matter what TT always had his back, all TT wanted was to do his own thing and come from behind Malik's shadow. Melanie didn't want to keep secrets on their marriage that's why she told Derwin, well she needs to clean this up fast and let Derwin know the truth although, I am asking why did Janay pause & looked so shocked when Derwin asked her? Is she hiding something we don't know? For the first show I think they jumped the gun and let a little too much out of the bag, I really miss the dynamic of all 3 women together and the same for the guys. Kelly still holding a grudge against Tasha for 2 years now, damn you are the one who pushed Jason away! Still excited to see what will happen in the coming episodes because no matter what we all fought to get this show back on & since it's here I will continue to support them & pray it gets a bit better
I agree. That was very unrealistic for Kelly to still be so agressively mad at Tasha 2 years after her marriage was over. I think it would have been better for the writers to just pick up where we left off. I want to see the Jason and Stacy Dash break up! What the heck happened. I want to see whether that jerk Kelly was messing with and Jason had to kick out of the house came back after Jason for revenge as was intimated after season 3. I want to see Janay's reaction when she learns Derwin and Mel married right after (or was it before) she gave birth. How did Terrance and Tasha meet? I want to know!!! Did the Sunbeams kick Kelly out or did she just leave (which future episodes indicate she wouldn't have because she misses her friends)? I mean...there is so much more we need to know and the story lines could have been ripe with details to allow us to feel like we have been there from beginning to end. I don't like the blanks in the story line.
THE GAME new season was huge disappointment. The characters all betrayed who we as viewers came to endear. Instead of being drawn to the characters and their humanly flaws, I was repulsed by the over the top negativity and venom being strewn across my LCD, I am a HUGE fan of episode seasons 1-3. BET give me more of that or THE GAME will go out of production again in my household.
I didn’t like how they replaced brit brat. What's up with TT who knew what was going to happen I feel bed for the little dude. Lol ..i like the show last night but the black and mild that was not cool. Ms.Mack has to much class for that.

Please stop taking the easy way out and tap into your creative mind and spirit. We are too intelligent to continue to watch silly story lines with no heart, no love, no message. What happened to the creativity the show use to have? The genuine love you felt betweent the characters has been lost. Why didn;t you pick up the show with the struggles of Derwin and Melanie's 1st year of marriage and please bring back RIck Fox!!!!!
I'm happy that the show is back but they need to bring the drama down a bit. Kelly has gone crazy and the new Brittany looks like a grown woman dressed as a child. They also really need to just let Melanie and Derwin just have a drama free relationship. At least for the first couple of episodes.
I am an extreme fan of the game! was excited but I had some major disappointments, Brit Brat for sure, wish they would have stayed with the other little girl. Kelly Pitts very bitter and I hope that her and Jason can find their way back to eachother, Tasha Mack, the younger man was just too much, it showed her as desperate, Malik was way over the top, he did TT so wrong! I am interested in knowing if Derwin is really DJ's father they never showed Janay's reaction so who know's?. Melanie and Derwin have a long way to go, but I was glad to see the "Rookie " in full force. I am waiting for next week to see what happens, but would like to see they dynamic ladies back together again .Their support system was what kept me glued to the show in the first place. Disappointing is what I have to say about the premiere. The Game has appeared to turn into a soap opera and I HATE soap operas. Yes, 2 years have passed but they need to remember why people liked to watch the show. I thought it used to be a good balance of comedy and drama but it appears its mostly going to be drama. I remember I would laugh out loud (even if I was watching by myself) at the jokes sometimes but that never happened last night. I hope it gets better otherwise I won't be staying up to watch it.
I loved the show last night. For those who thought it was too much drama-- keep in mind that it is typically a 1/2 hour show and they had to try to play catch up on two years in one episode...
I was excited to see that " The Game " was back, however, the show was disappointing to say the least. Tasha smoking a black and mild um... no! Its tacky. The sstorylin eof Tasha dating a younger guy is just not good. They could have done much better than that. Where is Rick Fox? Kelleys character is awful. She looks way too skinny and the story about her participating in a reality show isn't good either. I would lhave liked to see Kelly moving on and being treated right by a man. The way she should have been treated. She would have struggled immensley with that. Her hair is okay, but not the Kelly that I enjoyed. Keely needs to have her naivete back. Britttany is way too grown-up looking and her attitude sucks. I remember Kelly being a great mom. The old kelly would not allow Brittany to look or dress that way. Another important note on that... Brittany is bi-racial and should be portrayed that way. Jasons character is just okay. Jason and Kelly need a better storyline period. The writers did pretty well with the Derwin and Melanie story. I could see that picking up where it left off. The only Characters that they nailed were Derwin, Melanie, Malik, and Tee Tee's. They need to go back to the drawing board in regards to the toher characters. We loved the show however, we want the show that was funny and down-to-earth back. Please go back to the drawing board and try to incorporate some of the basics back into the program.

oK folks if you have a White mom and Black dad.. (Jason) 99.99 % of the child will be of the dads blood so jason is technically black so that explains the daughter color.

I FRICKING LOVED THE NEW SEASON OPENER!! YES I UNDERSTAND SOME PPL SAYING IT WAS ALOT OF DRAMA, BUT I THINK IT WAS TO A GOOD WAY TO BRING IN NEW VIEWERS TOO! I LOVED IT AND WILL RELIGIOUSLY WATCH THIS SEASON!
OK, I love the show. I also liked the first episode (to a degree). I understand that two years have passed and things change, but they should've let us know what happened within the years (somehow); if they weren't going to pick up from the wedding episode (last episode). For instance, Rick Fox came back from Florida to see Tasha at the wedding. Camille and Jason seemed to be an actual couple. Kelly's character (this season) is not the best...in fact, I hate her now. Malik's character was already 'out there', now, he's ridiculous. I can on and on, but I can say that the first episode of the new season, left one wanting to see more.
I didnt like the season opener nor the second episode... this whole season seems like a disapointment in waiting.
BET is trying to do too much at one time. and they need to get back to what the show was about.... YES 2 years passes but they could have gone a totally different direction with the situations they portrayed on this show...
I would have loved to see Melenie struggle with pregnancy or Kelly still trying to get over her divorce maybe Jason and her could hook up again?? there are so many other things they could have done with this show...

A little disappointed, but still hopeful. I have been a fan since day one and have loved it from the start. There were several aspects of this show that were so endearing. One being that there was a little ghettoness, but not over done (black and mild....really). Jason sleeping around???? Where is Rick Fox? He was great for Tasha. Derwin not DNA testing after 2 years? Sooooo many holes. Stacy Dash was great and pushed Kelly's character. She just disappeared. Wow, I hope the writers take another look at this show. If not we are looking at maybe one more season. :( BET, pay the money and get the original writers. By the way, where in the heck did Malik move into? One of Mc Hammer's repo properties??? His loft was original, now he is a cliche.
I hope Janae's character is deleted from the game. She is entirely too jealous of Derwin's love for Melanie and uses the baby to get what she wants. Melanie & Derwin would be the perfect couple with Janae gone.
Please remove Janae off the scene. She is entirely too jealous and sneaky.
Extremely disappointed with storylines... too much drama!!! And the storyline for Kelly Pitts is just stupid!!! Went through all the trouble of bringing back the show but it's a completely different show and NOT the show we begged BET to bring back. Hoping the writers find a way to bring back the "drama made funny" feel it had in Seasons 1-3.
Jason pitts isnt biracial both his parents are black. They showed his parents in an episode. His mom, who is played by lonette mckee, is fair skinned but black. If he's anything he's a quarter white if his mother is biracial on the show.
You are absolutely right! I just remembered the episode, where Kelly doesn't like the way Jason's mother treats her….
Even when watching the episode, I thought the mother was white. Must have stayed in my head that way. Thank again!
The show sucks . There is not one character I really like on the show. They are all materalistic. Everyone is selfish and superficial.
