Samsung Mobile hosted an interactive event in New York City in October 2012 to celebrate the U.S. launch of the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Camera. More than 1,000 Samsung fans were selected from among its 17.5 million plus Samsung Mobile USA Facebook fans and 3 million Samsung Mobile US Twitter followers to participate in the celebration, including an exclusive performance by artist, Kanye West.
The event was a huge success but ever since the event the Galaxy Note II is the toast of the smart phone community. For Samsung it was a bit of a risk releasing two major phones in one year but the Galaxy SIII and the Note II were both received highly both in popularity and sales. According to Cnet.com, the SIII sold over 20 million dollars in the first 100 days, while the Note II in 2 months sold over 5 million giving the Samsung brand a great 2012.
This month (January 2013) I was given the opportunity to test the Note II in my day-to-day life. My previous phone was the Motorola Photon, and all things considered the Note II surpassed the Photons by leaps and bounds. My emails, text messages, and phone calls all come in real time and my conversations have yet to drop or come in with poor quality. The picture quality rivals some cameras and the big bad iPhone. Of course the obvious main feature is the big 5.555 inch screen which gives me a very real view of what I’m doing especially with reading and or taking picture or playing games. Another feature I like is the ability the phone has to allow me to do multiple things simultaneously. The talk time and charging is also another feature that really helps my everyday life, I no longer have to walk around with my charger in my pocket every where I go.
How can I go through this article and not compare the iPhone 5 to the Note II, here are some advantages the Note has over the iPhone 5:
1. The Note II is available with all major carriers
2. 35 hours talk time and more than double battery capacity
3. Double the amount of RAM
4. Removable memory

Some of the other cool feature is the S Beam, which allows you to beam other SIII or Note II users information. The S Pen allows you to write notes on the phone and even the photos you take, you can also get a memory card up to 64G to store all your videos and pictures.
Overall the Galaxy Note II is an amazing phone, and for those always looking for the new hot thing, look no further than the Note II. To all iPhone loyalists, don’t worry we wont judge you if you jump ship, the only sacrifice is siri but everything else is up to par. Most carriers have the phone at $299 with a 2 year plan, with out the plan the phone retails for over $650. There also cool Samsung flip covers that give the phone its own identity, depending your personal style there are a flip cover in most major colors. The phone itself comes in titanium gray and white. With technology moving as such a rapid pace and the looming iPhone 6 I'm sure the Note III is coming soon.
