Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) runs a gang of street racers. They have races and see who wins. It's nothing new everybody has been doing it since cars were invented. Now the speeds are much faster than when we were kids. The women are still there. The watchers or ghouls who want to see a crash or two are still there. Difference is there is much more money needed to live this lifestyle. It's not the rent or beer that has gone up but the price of the cars and all the accessories that go with them. Now do you go out and get a job, no way. You just go out and steal what you need. Okay, so now you get the cops involved. Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) of the the LAPD is now on assignment, infiltrate Dominic Toretto's gang. Bust him for the robberies and get him off the street.

Brian's entry is through Dom's sister Mia ( Jordana Brewster). They start a conversation and Brian finds out about a race that night. Brian and Dom race and Dom wins. Now the cops have been alerted and are on their way to break up the race. Brian comes to Dom's aid and they get out of trouble. Dom is impressed at the new comer helping him when his buds all flee. Later at a party, Dom gives them hell about it. Vince ( Matt Schulze) gets a little riled about the newcomer and wants to fight. It gets broken up but Brian now knows that he has trouble to deal with.

The next day Sgt. Tanner (Ted Levine), Brian's boss, has a talk with him about how the police will be going after a Dom rival by the name of Johnny Tran (Rick Yune). You guessed it the two gangs will eventually go after each other and what is not expected is how Brian easily slips into the life style of the street racer.

Director Rob Cohen probably did not know that this first movie would go into seven. The movie was nothing special. The special effects were more interesting than the actors but it took off. People couldn't get enough of these movies. Some two billion dollars were made on the Fast and Furious movies. This past saturday Paul Walker (Brian O' Connor) would die in a auto accident. He was only 40 years old and leaves behind a fifteen year old daughter. Number seven of the series was being worked on as we speak. Will the series end here, only time will tell. Rest in Peace Paul Walker.
