The Eastern Sea: 'Plague' (2013)

"Plague" by The Eastern Sea is an Alternative Indie Pop album.

The opening track starts out sparse... every word uttered sounding important. As the song expands (which is really the best word for what it does), a heady ambiance is achieved while the singer's voice becomes more intense. The sound of the track in full swing can be adequately described as "grande". The song"So Long / Either Way" also has a similar progression.

Songs like "Santa Rosa" are pure pop bliss- perfectly mixed, and professionally mastered. A more eclectic bridge on this song makes it stand out among pop songs as un-repetitive and interesting.

Overall their themes paired with the singers voice makes me think of "Death Cab for Cutie"... not in every element, but a similarity can be drawn.

"Plague" by The Eastern Sea is available via their Bandcamp page.
