If there is one thing that the east coast has given to the world, it is fantastic pizza! Colorado is just not known for it's "pie", unless of course Colorado style pizza is your thing.
The search for great east coast style pizza has ended! Get to Golden and visit Al and Susan Bono of Bono's Italian Restaurant to get the real deal quality pizza and experience airlifted straight from the other side of the country.
Bono's is located at 14799 W. 6th Ave Service Rd. Golden, CO. 80401. As you walk in, you will see a small market area with many items to choose from and a case filled with some delicious homemade desserts. They usually have a tray on the counter with some free samples of something they have created for your tasting enjoyment. For lunch, pizza is usually always hot and ready by the slice. Grab a slice, then order a Steak Bomb! It's the perfect combination. Say hi to Al or Susan. Al is usually the hard working guy in the back cooking in the kitchen and Susan is probably the one chatting up the customers.
Dinner is fun at Bono's and an experience in itself. Check it out on a Friday or Saturday night, when it is a party atmosphere and the wine is flowing freely! Everything on the menu is delectable and worth trying. Prices are good and servings are plentiful.
Al and Susan have really hit a home run with their restaurant. The east coast runs in their veins and it shows in the food they serve. If you need an 'east coast fix', the drive from Westminster to Golden is not a long one and it is well worth it!
Hands down after searching for 20 years throughout Colorado for good pizza, Bono's is the place for authentic east coast style!!
