Downright good ol’ southern Rock is what comes to mind from the start of the brand spanking new self titled album from the band The Dead Daisies. A delicious mix of rock, blues and sweet, sweet guitar riffs. The band has a Black Crowes style to their sound. This is an album that just feels like summer. One you can download into your mp3 player, pop into your CD player, even going old school as their sound and throw it in the cassette deck.
Jon Stevens vocals are downright soulful. He’s experienced at his craft to say the least and he takes the reigns and guides us through his journey of broken hearts, hope and back again. Along for the ride he has some very skilled musicians who have a long list of years and accomplishments within the music industry including those from Thin Lizzy and G N' R, who have followed his lead. A supergroup of names appear on the album including the guitar master Slash on their first radio single “Lock N’ Load”, who also co-wrote it.
Finish off your summer by going on a road trip and bring the Dead Daisies with ya. Perfect if you got “miles in front of you”. It’s such a fun record and who doesn’t like drinking beer to great tunes and half naked ladies. So bring on the pool floats, bikinis and coolers. It’s time to dip, you dip, we dip.
