The southern part of Chandler isn't exactly the dining center of the Phoenix area but in recent years it's definitely started to flex it's culinary muscle. One of the first to start flexing was D'Vine Bistro & Wine Bar http://www.dvinewine101.com at the intersection of Alma School & Ocotillo. They have another location on Power Rd in east Mesa. Both locations share the same well rounded menu and on it is just 1 burger and as good as it was that's just fine with me.
For $11 you get a plump, in-house ground Filet Mignon burger that shows of its grill marks and comes served on a soft, buttered and toasted whole wheat bun from Breadsmith. Garnished with Romiane lettuce leafs, Roma tomato slices and red onion slices you can choose to have your burger topped with bacon, cheese, sliced Portobello mushroom or avocado for $1 more per topping. This very simple burger is very good as the burger and bun fit perfectly, it's properly prepared with juices from the dark pink middle dripping after every bite and you can taste this special cut of beef used. Along with the 2 strips of bacon to compliment the garnish's this burger left me thinking," Now this is how a burger is supposed to be". Included on the side was a generous portion of skin on and seasoned fries.
As this was my 1st burger in the Ocotillo neighborhood of Chandler, I look forward to see if burgers from other area restaurants have the muscle to reach the bar that D'vine has set.
