The Better Life Band rocked hard with Concordia and 12 Stones (Photos)

The Better Life Band is a Rock/Alternative band, with a true passion for music and others who share that passion. It shows with every performance and certainly did not fall short with the last two performances at Liquid Joe’s. The Better Life Band is made up of Derek Ashby on vox, Justin Upshaw on lead guitar, Neil Finch on rhythm guitar, Matt Dalley on bass and Steve Hill on drums. They are a good bunch, a rock powerhouse, always ready to charge the crowd up. The first performance was a local music night at Joe’s and they did not fail to deliver. Rocking out, engaging the audience and pouring their souls into the tunes. The faithful fans were out and did not forget to look good and scream loud. Derek flashed some acknowledging devil horns to a specific fan, who got up close for a picture.

The second performance was no different as far as any of the aforementioned is concerned. However, it differed in that this included two touring bands. First; Concordia, a kick ass hard rock band from Ohio. The talent from these guys will hit you in the chest and make your heart bleed rock n’ roll. The lead singer, Eric Emery, is small but has a big voice with the ability to reel you in and hypnotize you, so you can’t look away, can’t stop listening. Heavy guitar riffs, entrancing bass lines and head bang worthy drum beats are well put together and complement each other well. The adrenaline was pumping, even after their set was over.

Closing out the night was 12 Stones, an Alternative rock band from Louisiana, who’s been continuously gaining in popularity and into the Mainstream. 12 Stones picked up the adrenaline rush where Concordia left off and ran with it. Music that will make anyone jump, fist pump and throw up the horns and did. A number of audience members turned into a bouncing collective entity, jamming along. It’s no wonder this band is continuing to increase the size of its fan base. They also invited Concordia to share the stage for a bit. High talent and energetic, rockin’ tunes are not heard to find with 12 Stones. Check out a show when they tour nearby, you won’t be sorry.

Unfortunately, the members of The Better Life Band have decided to move on to other things. They are having a farewell show at The Complex this Saturday, February 23rd, 2013. Tickets are $10 and this is an all ages venue.
