A lot of the Mexican Restaurants I’ve been to in Concord, California have left me and my family ill… except for one, Los Pinos, located at 3375 Port Chicago Hwy., Suite 21 Concord, CA 94520. Unlike other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to, the owner keeps Los Pinos, in tip top clean condition. You can even see what’s happening behind the counter, and you won’t need Pepto later in the night.
When I first visited Los Pinos, I didn’t care much for Mexican Food because of my previous experiences. Now, I am a regular at this establishment because of their delicious food and clean environment, not to mention the very friendly service. Most people these days hate their jobs… but when you go to Los Pinos, it feels like they actually love their jobs. They are so nice and if they make a mistake on your order, they take care of it gracefully. They won’t place the blame on you like other restaurants might. But it helps when they make very few mistakes to begin with… the staff pays attention to your order and usually gets it right the first time. I’ve actually seen the owner himself, eating at this restaurant with his family… That’s always a good sign! I’ve worked at restaurants and usually after working at them, you see what’s going on and you don’t eat their anymore… So, actually seeing the owner who works there himself, eating there with his family, helps to confirm that the restaurant is clean and safe!
Also, other Mexican restaurants in town have little to no English speaking staff… So, for someone like me it’s very hard to place an order. At Los Pinos the staff is bi-lingual, English and Spanish speaking (not sure if they speak any other languages.) One time, my sister-in-law was helping me translate one of my songs from English to Spanish, but she was a little rusty… So, I took the lyrics to Los Pinos and one of the staff there helped me to confirm it was correct. That may sound wrong, but at the time I didn’t have anyone else I could ask lol. Point is, their staff is very helpful and nice.
In the same parking lot as Los Pinos, there is a Taco Bell and I’m always shocked to see the Taco Bell getting business when there is a way better alternative in the same parking lot! Why have fake Mexican food when the real thing is in the same parking lot? Not to mention, the prices aren’t too bad at Los Pinos either. I don’t remember, but I think you can get a taco at Los Pinos for like $1.80 or something close to that. You can even place an order for pick up at: 925-825-2085 or fax 925-825-2035. I guess they do catering too, but I don’t do parties, so for more info on that you’ll have to call.
If you love Mexican food and you’re in Concord, CA you have to go to Los Pinos Mexican Food! It’s clean, safe, has great service and delicious food! I am giving it 5 stars, because it’s my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant! Furthermore, I believe the owner is a Christian man himself… I usually always drop him off a copy of any new Christian songs I do. Very friendly man, you’re going to love him, if you get a chance to meet him when you drop-in. I’ve never met an owner that goes so much out of his way to please a customer, plus he seems very kind to his staff as well. I think they love working for him because he’s so nice, that always helps to have a boss like that. I think other restaurant owners could learn from this guy, it will help them to have customer and employee loyalty. When the employees are happy, the customers are usually happy too!
