With the start of the Christmas holidays, concerts and plays will be going on all over. Make some quiet time by reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson it is hysterical.
The Herdmans were the worst kids ever with their lies, stealing, smoking cigars (even the girls smoked cigars), and swearing, hitting other kids and setting fire to things that it’s hard too ever imagine anything, which could turn their bad ways around. There are six Herdmans and not one teacher has ever failed them since they do not want to have two Herdmans in their classroom the next year. Not even the mother of this gangster group wants to spend time with her own children. With the father gone and Mrs. Herdmans who would rather work a double shift at the shoe factory then spend quality time with her own kids, it really makes you wonder how these children are surviving.
No one could imagine the lives of these mean children turning around, but it’s the first story of Christmas and the baby Jesus does. It will make you laugh and cry all at the same time.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson is recommended for children between the ages of eight through eleven and it is 128 pages long.
