There is one amazing place in South Florida that transcends the passion of the founder to everyday visitors. It is magical, butterflies galore and a must visit place. This is for those of you that love butterflies, flowers, finches and hummingbirds. It is a feast for the eyes and your camera lens. Walking through the garden there is a Kodak moment in every step you take, so walk slowly and look carefully they are everywhere.
Butterfly World opened in 1988. There are according to the park about 10,000 butterflies on display which is amazing considering the short life span of a butterfly, on average 7-14 days.
Butterfly World is located inside Tradewinds Park, a Broward County Park. Therefore you have to pay admission to Tradewinds Park, and then entrance to Butterfly World. It is not cheap, look for coupons on their website. This is one case though where the price is not important, it is a true heaven for lovers of nature’s beauty. There are plenty of restrooms, food and drinks are available, as well as a big gift shop with everything butterfly. You also get a glimpse into the breeding of the butterflies in all stages that is truly fascinating. Florida residents this is a must go to place if you haven’t been.
