As unique combinations of toppings have become more common these days to jazz up burgers, the Bacon Brussels burger at old town Scottsdale's RnR http://www.rnrscottsdale.com/ modernist eatery is not only un-common but quite good despite the $15 price tag. As one of 3 burgers ($13 or $15) on the menu this burger is the one that's really set its self outside the box.
Served on pretzel bun and comes grilled perfectly to my medium rare request the burger is topped with a raspberry demi-glaze, fried brussel sprouts, 2 strips of Applewood smoked bacon, melted Jarlsberg cheese and an onion jam. What you get when all is said and done is a sweet and savory flavor along with juicy and well seasoned beef. In addition to tasting very good it is also very filing. This burger is one of the few I've found to be worthy of its higher than normal price tag.
In addition to your burger a choice of side dish is included and one can choose from bacon or steamed brussel sprouts, Parmesan fries, sweet potato fries, sweet potato tots, RnR house salad, house made Parmesan chips or fresh fruit. The Parmesan fries were golden and crispy with just the right amount of cheese.
