'The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)'

Spider Man (Andrew Garfield) has captured Aleksei Sytsevich (Paul Giamatti). Aleksei was trying to steal some vials of Plutonium from Oscorp Industries. In the process he saves Oscorp employee Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) while chasing Aleksei. Max eventually takes this to mean that he and Spider Man have become friends.

With Aleksei behind bars, Peter attempts to spark a friendship with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Now Peter had earlier made Gwen's father a promise to stay away from her. This would later become a problem when Peter was kissing Gwen at a graduation party. For you see right after that he would put the relationship on the skids and just want to stay friends.

Oscorp founder Norman Osborn was dying and his son Harry (Dane DeHaan) would come to visit and learn that what was killing his father eventually would also kill him. His father would leave him a device that carried in it all that his father knew. The device detailed how Spider Man's blood could cure Harry from getting the disease that would kill him. Unfortunately, it was already beginning to take over his body.

Max falls into a tank of electric eels while doing some maintenance at work and it turns him into what people later would call Electro.

Now on one side you had Harry trying to get some blood from Spider Man and on the other you had Electro trying to electrocute everything. Spider Man/ Peter Parker was a busy boy.

Director Marc Webb brings us this action packed, web slinging adventure and one has to wonder, why. It is the same old tricks with a new but same old story. This film lacks the punch that its predecessors have brought to the big screen and delighted us with. It may be worth the watch but it could be worth the wait. Save some money and watch it on cable. If you want to spend some money and take the kids then by all means they will enjoy it.
