The style of Alchemist's newest collaborator, Evidence of Dilated Peoples, pairs well with the smooth sounds of his partner's samples and production values for their combined debut release. Lord Steppington by The Step Brothers is calming with much to learn from. Its tales and scenes of extravagance with mild gangsta overtones, administered in steady doses, offer smart lyricism over tantalizing beats. What results is an album that is easy to listen to, yet satisfying. It's a little guest heavy, but they all rap very nice verses here. Even if Lord Steppington is more demonstration than innovation, both Alchemist and Evidence do what they are best at very well on this album, from the beats and samples rich in sonic history to the colorful visualization and weighty aphorisms of the lyrics.
