If you want to take in all there is to see and spend leisurely time with the vendors, plan for a weekend pass. The event offered a great lineup of shows including dog training, exotic birds, reptiles and dog grooming. There was even a presentation on how to prepare your dog to be a media star.

Vendors had much to offer this year, from pet clothing and pet food to toys and works of art. A few emergency veterinarians were on hand to discuss emergency care and pet health needs, as well as vendors who specifically help pet parents face end-of-life issues with their beloved pet.

The animal rescue groups were brimming with dogs, cats, puppies and kittens looking for loving homes. Passers-by could not help but stop and admire the pets in need and make inquiries. The bird rescue booths were crowded with visitors anxious to interact with the feathered friends.

Here’s what the show producer, Eric Udler, had to say about the event this year:

“Our February 7-9 show was our largest New Jersey show ever,” said Udler. “A record number of pet owners attended the show – a 30% increase compared to 2012. Vendors, most of them being small businesses, reported record revenues. This bodes well for the economy. Innova Pet Food made a huge splash by giving away 10,000 bags of free pet food including donating 2,000 bags to the New Jersey Society for the Prevention and Cruelty to Animals (NJSPCA). No other event in the New York Metropolitan Area attracts so many pet owners.”

If you missed the Super Pet Expo in Edison last month, mark your calendar now for February 6-8, 2015.
