The last time Re-Logic rolled out a patch for Terraria it effectively doubled the game’s total content, so when news of the crew banding together again from their respective projects started to get out many expected more of the same; Terraria 1.2 does not disappoint. Not only does this patch extend the endgame content in a manner and quantity similar to 1.1, but it also overhauls several of the game’s fundamentals and adjusts play and equipment options to accommodate those changes from the very beginning. New NPCs familiarize you with the fundamentals of the new content you’ll find on your adventures, be they the materials to finally play as a magic-focused character, how to craft slants into your blocks, and everything in-between. Considering that the game’s meager asking price of $10 hasn’t increased since its release and that with this patch it now boasts roughly three times its original content Terraria has only solidified its position as one of the best downloadable deals available on PC. If you’re a fan of sandbox adventure and/or 2D platforming action you’re going to get a lot of mileage out of this for a minimal investment.
