Imangi Studios stuck gold with the endless action video game “Temple Run” as it became one of the most downloaded games for iOS and Android systems in 2012. They look to have the same success with the sequel, “Temple Run 2”, which was released for the iOS system earlier this month and for the Android system this week.
“Temple Run 2” has a chance to be more successful because than the original because not only sticks to the same formula as “Temple Run”, but there are some significant changes that keeps gamers entertained for hours.
Like the original, the main protagonist is an explorer running away from a gigantic ape. The game starts off at a slow pace, but picks up the further the explorer runs. There are also coins to collect as well as power-ups, so “Temple Run 2” is just like “Temple Run” when it comes to being addictive.
But what makes this game more entertaining is that there is a new environment which includes a mountain path instead of the swamp from the original. The explorer can also swing from ropes, jump over spiked bobby traps and there’s even a mine shaft which can be use when the explorer reached a couple thousand meters.
“Temple Run 2” is great game that is well-designed, fresh and very addicting. Imangi Studios sticks to the original formula but they made the necessary tweaks to make “Temple Run 2” better. Fans of “Temple Run” will love “Temple Run 2” and don’t be surprised if there’s a “Temple Run 3” by this time next year.
