A long-awaited TED made his appearance on June the 29th in theatres. The cute cuddly bear is just what it is rated “R” which did include crude and sexual content, pervasive language, and some drug use. These are nothing of which we are used to seeing in movies of today. “TED” really does compare with Seth MacFarlane’s “Family Guy”. It’s almost like taking the animation out of Family Guy and transforming it into a real movie with a talking teddy bear.
The summary of “TED” as taken from IMDb: “John makes a Christmas miracle happen by bringing his one and only friend to life, his teddy bear. The two grow up together and John must then choose to stay with his girlfriend or keep his friendship with his crude and extremely inappropriate teddy bear, Ted.” Written by Anonymous. Top actors of the movie include Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Seth MacFarlane.
This review is for hands up, full 10-Stars all the way! If you love “Family Guy” and its humor, you will love “TED”.
“TED Rocks not the Best movie but an original concept unlike the rehash of all the other movies. Ted is a great movie for those of you us that grew up before 1990. There are many 80's references that may the movie great amount of laughter, with a little bit of a tear jerker as well. I would recommend this movie but not the teddy bear for children under age of 20 as they would not understand the references.” – says Eric. Yes, “TED” is filled with many 80’sreferences and even people who are as young as 20 or younger would not get the references.
Some people say that MacFarlane has gone too far with “Family Guy” and have said it should have ended years ago. This reporter does not agree with that at all. A lot of what MacFarlane writes about is purely for entertainment and has an enormous fan base. This fan base has landed “TED” at the top of the box office this weekend taking in over $54 million dollars. If you do not like the style of Seth MacFarlane, then do not see “TED” or slam it. Everyone has the right to his or her own opinion and taste. If you like MacFarlane’s humor, go see “TED” as you will not be disappointed.
