Taylor Swift We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

Taylor Swift's new single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" just reached number one on the Billboard Charts. The song is somewhat of a departure from Swift's previous offerings. Many of Swift's critics have criticized her music for "not being country enough". The new track will do nothing to dissuade these claims.

Red to drop October 22, 2012

"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" uses a spoken word approach for much of the song as opposed to most of her previous music which featured different blends of melodies and harmonies. Judging from the quick rise up the Billboard and iTunes charts (also number one), Swift's fans will follow her even if she were to recite the phone book.

Musical tastes aside, one would find it hard to argue the formula Swift has used to attain her current status atop the charts. She writes songs from life experience, often using past relationships to fuel a playful or slightly vengeful musical production. People want honesty, and that pours from almost every song Swift releases.

Whether you count yourself among Taylor Swift's legion of fans or not, chances are you will soon be bombarded with interviews, photos, and constant radio replays of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" if you have not already. Forget for a moment your need to appear cool and anti-mainstream and you might just find yourself humming this insanely catchy tune one day when you least expect it.
