Located on Valencia and 16th Street, Thai House 530 finds itself amidst the plethora of different cuisines available in the Mission District. The modern and minimalistic décor of Thai House 530 creates a futuristic feel that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, with its grass filled wall art and centrifugal glasses. This family run restaurant is the sister restaurant of Thai House in the Castro operated by the friendly likes of Por-Phol Meeriyagerd.
Thai House 530 offers traditional Thai dishes like Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice, along with daily specials with a fusion twist like the Crispy Pork Belly and Green Curry Udon. The Crispy Pork Belly, paired with red bell peppers and basil leaves, was my favorite dish of the evening, with all of the textures blending harmoniously together.
I love the large assortment of appetizers to choose from and the wide array of entrees that cater to every taste. If you have room for dessert, order the Banana Fritters to top off your meal.
Carlie's Top Picks:
- Papaya Salad with Prawns
- Money Bags
- Green Curry
- Cripsy Pork Belly
- Ribeye Beef Skewers
- Taro Fries
Thai House 530 has a great daily happy hour filled with eclectic cocktail concoctions such as their Thai Sangria and House 530 Special.
