Michael Cao and Jennifer Yiu found a love of gourmet food trucking on Tainamite. Tainamite is a combination of Taiwan, Vietnam, and Dynamic. Jennifer is Taiwanese and Mike is Vietnamese. The combination of food cultures is definitely Dynamic. They started in 2009 and are well on their way to success. If you can survive in a food truck for over 2 years, you are set. When you try their food, you’ll know why people keep coming back for more.
Garlic Noodles with Shrimp is pan fried noodles with garlic, butter, and their secret sauce, served with succulent shrimp. The aroma of garlic is apparent the moment that the container is opened. The garlic flavor was just right and added the perfect flavor to the pan fried noodles – almost sweet and savory. The shrimp were expertly prepared with a great snap. The flavor is so addictive! Once you start eating, you can’t stop! Thumbs up, way up!
Chicken Fried Rice includes fresh eggs, caramelized onions, and secret ingredients/sauces. This was the most flavorful fried rice I’ve ever had. It had just enough shoyu (soy sauce) without all of the Americanized vegetables like cubes of carrots and peas. It is back to its roots with Asian flavors of egg, onions, and perfectly cooked chicken. Thumbs up, way up!
Tainamite’s Bao is filled with pork, sausage, and egg. It was just the right package for these ingredients to harmoniously work together as they hit your taste buds. The cross-section is also as beautiful as it tastes with the bright yolk like the rising run. The pork sausage mix was very familiar, almost like you would have in a shumai or wonton at a Chinese restaurant, but there are some flavors and spices that make a little more special. I shared this one but should have got one for my very own. One bite in, I knew I didn’t want to share it. Thumbs up, way up!
I asked them if they would make us the Sausage Fried Rice with Egg with the Garlic Noodles instead of the fried rice. The lap cheong was outrageously delicious with a medium grind, plump, and sweet. It’s like meat candy. The combination of this savory/sweet sausage, the addictive garlic noodles, and the yolk from the egg was an absolute onolicious experience. We were sad when the container was empty. Thumbs up, way up!
The servings on this truck are massive – enough for lunch and dinner – but the flavors are so amazing you might not be able to stop eating it to save it for dinner. Their success is by bringing food out to the people that is flavorful, affordable, and served by friendly, caring people.
